Welcome to the about us page of Salem Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG MK). We are a vibrant and growing church that is committed to upholding the core values and purpose statements that guide our mission and vision.

The Mission, Core Values, and Vision of the Church are collectively known as the Purpose Statements of the Church. We are guided by a clear and focused set of statements that help us stay true to our calling and inspire us to reach new heights in our service to God and the community. Our Purpose Statements include:

OUR MISSION

The mission of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana is to uphold the centrality of the Word of God and through the enablement of the Holy Spirit, pursue a holistic ministry so as to bring all of creation to the glory of God. To achieve this mission, we have set out the following objectives:Mobilizing the entire church for prayer: We believe in the power of prayer and the need for all members of the church to be actively engaged in praying for the church, its leaders, and its mission.Improving church growth through evangelism and nurture: We are committed to sharing the love of Christ with others and helping them to grow in their faith through sound teaching and discipleship.Attaining self-sufficiency through effective resource mobilization: We believe in being good stewards of the resources God has given us and utilizing them to further the work of the church.Promoting socio-economic development through advocacy and effective delivery of social service: We recognize the importance of addressing the social and economic needs of our communities and are committed to being a positive force for change.Upholding the Reformed Tradition: We cherish the heritage of our Reformed faith and strive to uphold its doctrines, practices, and values.Cherishing partnership with the worldwide body of Christ: We recognize the importance of being part of the global Christian community and seek to build relationships with other churches and organizations that share our values and mission.

 

 

OUR CORE VALUES

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana was founded on certain core values that are not compromised in the attainment of the church’s strategic objectives. These values are:

  • Godly Leadership: We believe that effective leadership is essential for the success of the church and that leaders should be guided by biblical principles and be accountable to the church and its members.

  • Mentoring and Discipleship: We believe that every member of the church has a responsibility to grow in their faith and to help others do the same through mentoring and discipleship.

  • Discipline: We recognize the importance of discipline in the life of a Christian and the need for the church to maintain high standards of conduct and behavior.

  • Sound Moral Principles: We believe that the Bible provides the foundation for our moral principles and that we should uphold these principles in all areas of our lives.

  • Integrity: We believe in honesty, transparency, and accountability in all our dealings and interactions.

  • Skills Development: We believe in the importance of equipping our members with the skills and knowledge needed to serve God effectively

  • Hard Work: We believe that hard work is essential for achieving our goals and that we should be diligent in our efforts to serve God and the church.

  • Humility: We believe that humility is a key characteristic of a follower of Christ and that we should strive to be humble in all our interactions and relationships.

  • Unity: We believe that unity is essential for the success of the church and that we should work together in a spirit of love, cooperation, and mutual respect.

  • Upholding Democratic Principles: We believe in the importance of democratic principles in the governance of the church and the need for all members to have a voice and be involved in decision-making processes.

All of these values and objectives are guided by our Purpose Statements, which reflect our commitment to being a Christ-centred, self-sustaining, and growing church. We believe that by living out these values and working towards our mission and vision, we can be a positive force for change in our communities and in the world.

OUR VISION

The vision of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Salem Congregation, is to be a Christ-centred, self-sustaining, and growing church. This vision speaks to the church's desire to keep Christ at the forefront of all its activities and to be self-sufficient, both financially and in terms of its resources. The church believes that a self-sustaining church is better equipped to carry out its mission effectively and to serve its community.

To achieve this vision, the church is committed to promoting growth through various means, including evangelism and nurture. The church believes that it has a duty to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible, and to provide ongoing support and discipleship to those who come to faith.

Another key component of the church's vision is the mobilization of the entire church for prayer. The church recognizes the importance of prayer in its ministry and sees it as a critical means of seeking God's guidance and support. By mobilizing the entire church for prayer, the church aims to create a strong sense of community and a shared commitment to its vision.

Overall, the vision of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Salem Congregation, is ambitious, but achievable. The church is committed to working towards its vision with diligence, perseverance, and faith, trusting in the guidance and provision of God.

Our History

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana was established in 1828 by the Basel Missionaries in the Gold Coast (now Ghana). Over the years, the church has grown and expanded to become a vibrant and influential presence in the country. The Salem Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG MK) is the first Presbyterian Church to be established in a planned town at Buckinghamshire County called Milton Keynes. We are proud of our history and heritage, and we are committed to preserving our traditions while also embracing new opportunities for growth and innovation. find more here

Our Community Outreach 

As a church, we believe in serving our community and making a positive difference in the lives of those around us. Our outreach initiatives include programs for the homeless, youth development, food drives, and education support for underprivileged children. We are always looking for new ways to serve our community and to share our message of hope and love with those in need. find more here

Our Groups

At Salem Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG MK), we offer a wide range of groups for members to join and get involved in. These groups include Men's Fellowship, Women's Fellowship, Young Adult Fellowship, Young People's Guild, Junior Youth, Children's Ministry, Bible Study and Prayer Group, Singing Band, and Church Choir. Each group provides a unique opportunity for members to connect with others who share similar interests and beliefs, and to grow in their faith. find more here
